D.D. Lewis
D.D. Lewis was a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys for 13 years, from 1968 to 1981. He played in 5 Super Bowls and at one point played 135 consecutive games. In 2001 he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame for his prowess on the field at Mississippi State University. After retiring from football his life fell apart because of drug and alcohol abuse. He lost his wife and kids in the process. In 1986 “D” took his last drink and has been sober since. He reconnected with God and works in his company’s outreach program talking to students about his life’s lessons, peer pressure, and the need for a “game plan” against alcohol and drugs. He currently resides in Plano, TX.
