Ron Hall

Ron Hall

Ron Hall, a TCU grad, stumbled into dealing in international arts and became a multi-millionaire doing it. Leading up to that illustrious career he tried to make professions of bull riding, boxing, and bond trading. He married his college sweetheart, Deborah, in 1969. Unfortunately, he lost her to cancer in 2000. During their journey together they encountered Denver Moore, a man raised under plantation-style slavery in Louisiana in the 1960s; a man who escaped, hopping a train to wander, homeless, for eighteen years on the streets of Ft Worth, Texas. As Deborah faced her impending death she charged Ron to rescue Denver. After her death, Ron began writing. The resulting book became Same Kind of Different As Me, a tale of the two men on a journey through tragedy and triumph, life and faith. While building an unlikely friendship they supported each other and have come to make a mark on this world; Ron in his writings, and Denver in public speaking and volunteering for homeless causes (he was named “Philanthropist of the Year” by Ft Worth in 2006). Ron’s most recent work, What Difference Do It Make? Was released in 2009.
