Testimonies - No Guts No Glory

August 24, 2009 @ 3:39 pm

by Mike Tobias

I’ve received a few emails from men who have been in need of prayer and men who’s prayers have been recently answered. It occurs to me that we really need to leverage the power of our new website to help each other. I am calling you out right now - NO GUTS…NO GLORY!

If you have the guts to share your testimony right here, right now then we can give God the Glory! On the other hand if you have no guts then there is no glory.

    Dear Wingmen Brothers,

Overwhelmed is a mild description of what I’m feeling at this moment!  Father spoke directly to me at tonight’s Encounter and Prophetic Presbytery service at Gateway!

For you who did not attend or do not know what an Encounter service at Gateway is about, let me briefly explain. We have an Encounter service at Gateway once a month on Sunday night. Gateway’s web site http://www.gatewaypeople.com says it this way: “Encounter is a time for you to soak in God’s presence, go deeper in your personal relationship with Him and allow the Holy Spirit to lead and empower you. Come expecting God to do something, be fully refreshed while you’re there, and leave empowered to do God’s work in your life!” I have been aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit at all of the Encounter services that I have attended.

Once a year Gateway holds Presbytery services for three days. This year the Presbytery service was included with the monthly Encounter. This prophetic ministry is for several canidates as well as words in due season for the congregation.  The Presbytery service is based on 1 Timothy 4:14, “Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.” NKJV

Tonight was different. Tonight I was called out of 1,800 + people by Pastor Wayne Drain of Arkansas and given an encouraging prophetic word from Father that was a direct answer to a prayer I had prayed before the service began. No one but me and Father knew what my prayer was about.

Several of you have known of the trials I have been through the past 15 months and have lifted me up in your prayers. For those who don’t I will give a brief recap. Following a Friday morning Wingman meeting in May of 2008 at 10:30 a.m. I came home to an empty house. My wife of nineteen years and fourteen year old daughter, without a word had moved out in less than four hours taking just about everything with them. My now fifteen year old daughter still refuses to talk. I have had less than two minutes of conversation with her since 2008. My divorce seemed to be a never ending process but was finalized on Aug. 06, 2009. Also, my business of 20 years became greatly affected by the GM bankruptcy.

On the day I came home to an empty house one of the first things I did was send an email to many of you with a simple request for prayer with no explanation of the circumstances.  The response was overwhelming!  In minutes the replies and phone calls started. That was followed by personal visits and prayer by many of you. I was very humbled and grateful by the response of so many of my Wingmen brothers.

The Lord has clearly answered many prayers during this time and tonight was no different.

As the part of the service began where people in the congregation are called out and asked to stand while words from the Holy Spirit are spoken directly to them in due season, Dave Novak’s daughter was called by Brady Boyd. The word he had for her was directed to anxiety that she was experiencing at this time. Then Bruce Levinson was called on. Again, the word he received spoke directly to him. Then Wayne Drain called me out. Now I am sitting a long way from the Novak’s and Levinson’s. At first I was stunned. I asked myself if this was for real.

Wayne writes his words out as the Lord gives them to him and then goes and speaks directly to the person the Lord has pointed out to receive His word. This is from the notes he used in speaking God’s word to me.

“Faithful man of God. Its gonna be alright.
What the experts say cannot be, The Lord says, I can.
I saw a vial of oil being poured out. Healing - restoration- re-establishment - re-alignment coming from heaven pouring over you.
    It’s gonna be alright.
You haven’t been forgotten. God Sees. God hears. God remembers. Stay faithful in the place of divine appointment.
    It’s gonna be alright.”

Guy’s this is a direct answer to the prayer I prayed before the service began!

Father didn’t stop talking to me there. When I got home and continued my conversation with Father I was led to put this experience in writing and share it with you. I then realized I didn’t know how to spell Wayne’s last name. So I googled it. That led me to his bio which I began to read. I found out that he has quite a musical background and has written several songs which were available to play. This is another Holy Spirit thing. I chose and do not know why, “I’m Crying Out” from the middle of the list. I have included it for you to enjoy also. To listen goto http://www.waynedrain.com/imcryingout.wma.wma

    I will close with this.

    Deuteronomy 4: 29 -31
29 But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
30 When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the LORD your God and obey His voice
31 (for the LORD your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

It is my prayer that each of you will seek Him and experience an Encounter with Him!

    God’s Grace is Overwhelming!

PS. I encourage each of you to join an ELEMENT. God scrambled his squadron to me in my time of need and they stayed by my side for the entire battle! It is good to have these Wingmen on stand-by when attacked by the enemy!
