Comments from John Carbonari on the “Call to Bare Arms for Kory”

Over four years ago I began coming to Wingmen.  I’ve heard excellent speakers; I’ve formed friendships that are solidly built on the Rock; I’ve seen growth in an organization and individuals; but, on Friday 2 July 2010 I was part of something special.
A dear friend and Wingmen brother of ours has been in a fight against leukemia.  As a result of one Wingman hearing and acting upon the Holy Spirit’s voice, our dear brother now has 1) 38 draws of blood donated to Carter BloodCare in his name; 2) prayer support that rivals any; 3) a body of men and brothers volunteering to support and help in any area.  These are only some of the tangible outpourings I witnessed.  I cannot begin to estimate the damage done to an invisible yet real and dangerous enemy who counts on apathy and unbelief to further his doomed agenda.  I cannot begin to estimate the amount of witnessing that was done by people who came to Market Street and Manny-G’s simply to get groceries or have a bite to eat, and “by chance” witnessed over 60 men laughing with one another, praying with one another, wearing blue bandages wrapped around their arms bearing the marks of sacrifice to help another.
It was said of John the Baptist in John 1:7, “this man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light”.  Folks that is one of the main
reasons our Savior came to set us free.  We are to be His witnesses.
A witness is one who testifies of the truth he has experienced.
Inspired and motivated to act by His voice.  To walk in His Spirit.
Free sons and daughters.
As part of the Market Street element;  I’ve sat around having great coffee/food with fellow Wingmen;  had excellent discussions of the Word;  heard men share testimonies of amazing life change as a result of their relationship with Christ.  But on this past Friday, I literally saw the hands and feet of our Saviour coming together as one in support of another.  I saw, “love” in action.  I saw the personal word given to one man, and then acted upon by many, bearing life.
At the close of most of our breakfast’s together, we at the Market Street element remind one another, that the Word we so dearly share and discuss, desperately desires to have action in deeds led by His voice.  If all we do is sit around and are inspired, however comforting that is, it is not completing the faith that He needs us to do by walking out His words.
Luke recorded the following testimony in his gospel.  Luke 11:27-28
(NKJV),  “And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”  But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
This relationship we share with Christ is a growing transforming one
that when lived out not only changes you, but also those around you.
On Friday 02 July 2010 at Market Street and Manny-G’s, I had the privilege of witnessing men giving so freely of themselves.  We gave our brother Kory blood; we gave his son Josh encouragement; we gave one another fellowship; we gave all around us life.
Thank you men.  I am honored to be part of a group of wingmen who are living out the words of our Savior, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)
